CATRIONA HOGG
I signed up to the Wellbeing Toolkit after it was promoted to me via the Parent Group I chaired at the time. It quickly became a case of the right time and right place as I was navigating myself and my family through the changes that a long term health condition had brought. My family tool kit had been turned on its head, and as I progressed through each unit I was immensely grateful for the chance to re equip myself and my family.
Along the way I was making some amazing connections with my fellow parents and when the chance came to train as a facilitator I felt like it was the ultimate way to pay back and pay forward all the opportunities to support family life and personal growth.
At home I'm a mum to two children, in a busy neurodivergent household. Together we enjoy family adventures, getting creative and spending time with our menagerie of pets. To fill my cup I love spending time surrounded by nature or cosying up with a good book and a cuppa.
ROB KERR
I am a dad to two teenagers and have been a part of PNS for two years, recently becoming a Parent Group Leader, having completed the Parent Academy.
I like being outdoors, exploring new places, historical sites and beaches to collect sea glass and dunk with the kids.
What I like about PNS is the support from both the parents on the courses and from the facilitators, who have all completed the PNS Parent Academy and are passionate about helping other parents. It was this support that helped me realise as a parent, particularly a dad, that taking time for myself was, not only important, but necessary. This support and passion from the facilitators helped drive me to become a facilitator with PNS, as well as pushing myself out of my comfort zone to take on new challenges to promote inclusion and good mental health and wellbeing."
MELISSA ISOBEL WELLS
I am Mel, I am a mum two children - a girl and boy, both being assessed for Autism and ADHD, home life was tough and I wasn't looking after myself.
I was given the opportunity to join PNS and undertake the Wellbeing Tool Kit, I have since undertook other courses via PNS and now looking at Training to become a Facilitator. PNS is a fantastic organisation, very supportive.
